TheMasterSword Majoras Mask Review

Review by DekuLink
Edited by ZenebaS

Game Title: Majora's Mask (aka MM)
Platform: N64
System requirements: Enhanced graphics pak

Review: Majoras Mask is a basic 3D Zelda game, and the engines as in Ocarina of Time. In Majora's Mask you play as Link, but can transform into a Deku scrub, a Zora, a Goron, and a great warrior known as Fierce Diety. In MM, the controls are good, but having to go back in time again and again to get items and do certain quests gets annoying, and it gets repetitive to play.

Now, it is pretty fun (except that stupid Water Temple...), and the side quests are both fun and plentiful. The background okay in my view, but is definatly not the best in the LoZ series. Over all it can be confusing, but the bosses are fun and you can play the same bosses as many times as you want!

Ratings:
Controls- 8.5  The controls are easy enough to use, and are the same as in Ocarina of Time for the most part. Combat is easy, and so is moving around. But switching masks is even more annoying than switching boots is in Ocarina!
Graphics-  9.0 It has the same graphics engine as OOT, which was getting old at the time MM was made. However, the graphics are still among the best on the N64.
Music-  7.0 The music is good, but it gets repetitive hearing the same things over and over. Alot of the enemies make sounds, too.
Fun- 7.0 Majora's Mask is not as fun or original as OOT. There are some new enemies, which is good. But do the same things over and over (going back in time) is extremly annoying. And if you mess up on something on day 3, you have to go back to day 1 to fix it.
Background- 6.0 The background messes LoZ's story up in some ways (play the game and see), and it really is not as cool as in OOT.
Overall- 7.0 MM is fun and you should definately play it, but Ocarina was the better Zelda for N64.
